Oildyne Trim Pump w/o Manual Release

I'm posting this just for interest. I replaced the motor on a circa 1987 Oildyne trim pump (metal reservoir). The outdrive was in the trailer position and when I went looking for the manual release, all I found was an unthreaded hole in the pump housing. What gives?

They stopped using the manual release valve around 83 or 84.

Ayuh,... The Only pumps I've seen with a manual release valve is on the Old outboard pumps...
