Oil/water mixture pouring out of engine from breather hoses!

I have a 1996 Grady White with a 501 Volvo V8 that I have had for 5 years. I have done all the pm myself including winterizing.
I put the battery back in, checked all the fluids, hooked it up to the hose and it cranked right up. I walked around to the outdrive to make sure it was pulling water in, and that water was coming out and noticed a little stream of milky, oily water coming out of the bilge. I then looked at the engine and milky oil was oozing out from under the carb cover and had covered the entire top of the engine. It had been running less than 5 minutes.

After reading other posts, I have the following questions that I need help with.

1. How can I isolate where the raw water is leaking into the oil?
2. Will a cracked intake manifold allow water into the engine oil?
3. Will I be able to eyeball the intake manifold once it is off the engine and see cracks, or do you have to test it somehow?
4. Could a leaking intake manifold gasket cause this problem?
5. No oil cooler.
6. No oil in cylinders, compression good on all.
7. Pressure checked raw water cooling system and heard air coming from oil fill on valve cover.
8. No fresh water cooling.

Thanks for all responses. Greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help and let me know if you need more information.

do a leak down test and a pressure test. it should help identify where the crack/leak is.

if its just the manifold, you should be able to see the crack. a leaking intake gasket or a leaking head gasket could lead to water in the oil.

Pull the manifold and have a look, the cracks are usually visible after you get the milky mess cleaned up. Look at the block above the lifters once you get the intake off.

Thank you for your responses!! Is a cracked intake a fairly common problem when you get water ingestion?
Also, how will the leak down test help me pinpoint the problem?
Thanks again.

Cracked blocks come from freezing, not water ingestion. Water ingestion would cause a hydrolock with water on the cylinders, not a lot of milky oil coming out of the engine.

I would like to thank you for all your responses. After removing the intake manifold, I saw that it was rusted through
below the thermostat housing. I bought a reconditioned intake through Den Mac Sales located here on Long Island in NY.
Installed and all is well. When it stops raining here, I will post photos of the rusted holes in the intake. Thanks again.

if the intake is rusted thru, have you looked at the exhaust manifolds. I highly recommend you buy a set of manifold and riser gaskets (OEM, not the Sierra green leakers), pull your manifolds and take a look. I would also post pics here as well.

Pulled the risers first, as I saw rust streaks on the outside of them running down the exhaust manifolds. All was okay. Cleaned them up a bit and reinstalled them with new OEM gaskets. Thanks for the tip though. Will change oil again today if the weather clears up.
