I have read similar posting about this issue I am having, but wonder if anyone has additional comments or suggestions. Oil is not transferring from the remote tank to the engine tank. If manually filled engine runs normal, once the tank has run down to the low mark the following will happen. Three flashing arrows on the tach, alarm will sound and if running at speed rpm is reduced. I do have a aftermarket yamaha manual and have reviewed their test procedures, I did cut the plugs off the wiring harness in an effort to meter the resistance from the oil sensor. I have discovered the wire was solid black, and have ordered respective parts: new harness, screen w o-ring, oil sensor and remote oil sensor. I will install once they arrive, will also drain the tank and test to ensure proper installation. I have read the seal on the bottom of the sensor can cause engine failure. Not sure if those parts actually need to be replaced but do know that copper wire should not be black and is not helping the issue. I do have a pair of these engines and the port motor is currently working properly. Thanks for any input you may have.

I have installed the parts above, and now have a functioning oil transfer between the tanks. Pulling the new harness will be a challenge and have that scheduled for this weekend. Found more corrosion between the harness and the remote tank, was thinking dielectric grease may prevent the same from happening again. Again any suggestions will be appreciated.
