I just purchased a used 98 nitro with a 120 hp mercury force engine. There was no owners manual for the engine and I can't reach the seller (for two weeks, vacation). I plan on running it this wednesday and don't know the oil to gas ratio, any help?

Ahoy, Newowner! Welcome aboard the best boat site there is.

Use 1 pint TC-W3 rated 2 stroke oil to 6 gallons of 87 octane unleaded, alcohol free gasoline. We call that 50:1 mix, even though it works out to 48:1.

Happy boating.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

If you haven't already, check out the topic; "What's Required To Keep My Force Running A Long Time". I've Been around boats most of my life and I printed a copy of this to keep in my Clymer's shop manual. Wish I'd had this kind of help (the experts in this forum) years ago. Enjoy your new boat and be safe. -G.

Re: Oil to gas ratio

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows the mixture for my engine. I have a 76 model evinrude 9.9 hp engine and i have been under the assumption that it was 1 pint to 6 gallons but was wondering if anyone knew for sure. I have tried to find it elsewhere with no success. If anyone knows please inform me. thanks

Howdy, Fisher. Your mix should also be 50:1.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

One pint per six gal. gas. Usually you can find the pint containers, or just half a quart.
