Hi,

I'm experiencing problems with my DT65CL. After replacing Fuel pump, CDI-unit, sparks, etc. the engine does not function well. After my last visit to the local dealer the engine does not seem to rev. Running at Idle RPM the engine stalls, and when running no power is available.

But... my oil sensor says the resevoir is aways full. When looking in the reservoir i noticed there was only 1/4 oil in it. Is it possible that the broken/dirty sensor tells the electronica to "hold" the engine?

Thankx,

Martijn
The Netherlands

MARTIJN, NO IF YOUR OIL SENSOR IS INDICATING A FULL RESEVOIR IT WILL NOT HOLD THE ENGINE BACK, THOUGH I WOULD STILL FIX IT IF IT IS NOT SHOWING THE PROPER READING. THERE ARE SOME MODELS OF THE DT65 THAT WILL HOLD THE ENGINE BACK IF IT GETS A LOW OIL SIGNAL , BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOURS IS SHOWING FULL WHICH WILL NOT DO THIS. MAY BE ABLE TO HELP SOME MORE BUT I NEED TO KNOW THE YEAR OF YOUR MOTOR .

Re: Oil sensor suzuki DT65CL

I am not much on the Suz, but some of the engines have a sensor in the oil line between the oil tank and pump, if this sensor does not sense oil flow it will hold the RPMs to about 2500. The one I worked on had jelled oil in tank would not flow, clean tank, and sensor then worked ok. The local Suz tech tells that on every service they remove tank and flush with hot soapy water to clean, they do not clean sensor, just replace when needed.

My suzuki is from '91.

last Saturday the engine did wel at full +/- 6000 rpm. Ten seconds later he dropped back. When I "stepped on it" i did not seem to react. RMP dropped down and the engine stalled.

I went to an offical Suz. dealer, he does not know the problem... it did okay in the workshop.
