oil seal replacement on Mariner

Any tricks to removing the oil seals on a Mariner lower unit without having to remove the cover nut on the prop shaft? Its an 1986 175hp Mariner.<br /><br />Thanks

Slider , Are you attempting to change propshaft seal or all of the lower unit seals?If propshaft seal is what your looking to replace the prop shaft nut retaining the propeller will most definately have to be removed.
