My Math says you are right. 32:1 means 4 oz to a gallon. 4 oz by 6 gallons, 24 oz of oil.
What engine are you going to run 32:1? I am familier with older johnsons running 24:1 and most everything newer running 50:1.

Re: oil ratio question

I will be using the 32:1 ratio on a 2.4 245hp bridgeport merc v-6. Thanks for your reply I feel better knowing I didn't screw it up..

Hello to all you home fuel mixers.
There are plastic bottles on the market that take the sting out of calculating the right mix.
I got one at a certain -mart for less than 2 dollars.
With these bottles it is just as easy to make one gallon of mix as it is to make two or three gallons.Just pour your oil in the bottle up to the line where it shows the amount of fuel you want to mix. These bottles are about as big as a coke bottle so room in your boat is no problem.
This way you can top off your fuel tank with exactly the right mix instead of the usual "more or less".
I consider buying a second one for very precise cocktails... ;) ;)

I have always used an old baby bottle for that very same purpose. You have to know what your ratio is and how many ounces to a gallon, but once you do it makes it more precise, than pouring from the oil container, and a bit easier as well.
