Oil question

I know this must be an ongoing question here, but the search on this forum is not that user frienly...
The info I found on the evinrude e-tec site doesent say anything for the 1993 and under...

"Q - What kind of oil can I use for my 2-stroke motor?

A - XD30, XD50 and XD100 oil is recommended for all 1993 and newer motors"

Is it the same statement valid for my 1974 v4?

Any TC-W3 rated oil will perform well in your engine. Semi synthetics will smoke a bit less and offer cleaner running. Full synthetics will offer much less smoking and even cleaner running.

Do a good decarb.
