I just recently disconected the oil pump on my suki dt25, got tired of being scared it would fail on me, so now I mix. I removed the oil resivoir, disconected the wiring so alarm wouldnt sound, and pluged the oil intake line. The pump is still on the motor, just pluged up the hose. This setup seems to be working fine, just wanted to know If I should expect any troubles in the future, or did I correctly disconect the system.

Craig
Columbia SC

You did it half right. You need to actually remove the oil pump, and withdraw the oil pump drive from the block, or the oil pump will seize from no lubrication. Once that happens, the driving gear on the crank fractures, and #3 cylinder ends up eating the whole mess. The drive rod comes out easily, about2 inches long, then you can refit the pump to cover the hole, or make up a small plate to do the same thing

Regards, Paul
