If we leave Iraq tomorrow and civil and possibly regional war will start. Will the price of oil go up or down?
The overall price would go down for the the USA simply because our "hidden" cost (maintaining an army in combat) would go down.
But the price at the pump? Would everybody start selling oil for guns and thereby flood the world market? Or would the price go up because the wells will stop producing?
What do you think?

It would go up. Any instability in the region will cause the futures to go up regardless to real threat to supply. Monkeys farting in Venezuela makes the oil go up, you can just imagine what war in the middle east would do.

Agreed with JasonJ. Instability in the middle east would cause a rise in oil prices.

What Bondo said, besides the Mid-east has been unstable for a very long time and will continue to be that way until its people come into the 21st century, who knows where we will all be by then?

Want to explain what that has to do with anything?
