Oil Pressure Sensor (OPS)

I have a 2007 Tahoe 215 with 4.3L Mercruiser (carburater) and while attempting to remove the oil pressure sensor, the screw end broke off in the oil filter housing. I'm thinking the easiest route would be to remove the oil filter housing; therefore, I would like to know if the oil filter housing is removable and if so, how difficult of a job is it? Any advice would be welcomed for other methods to facilitate
the easiest way for a DIY.... Thanks in advance!

AllDodge, which lines might you be referring to, and does pressure switch screw into part 9? Also, what is the function of part 9?

Again years help but serial numbers are best
You said
screw end broke off in the oil filter housing.

So I'm assuming your talking about the oil filter adapter housing (again no motor serial number) which is item 7 in the link above. To remove the housing item 9 needs to be unscrewed to be able to remove the housing

BTW, AllDodge, what is the bwst way to access the oil pressure switch to tap out the broken screw on the switch. I guess what I was asking earlier is what part will I be extracting the broken pece from? I wasn't bery clear on this earlier. I ask because the motor diagram in the manual doesn't make this entirely clear. Thanks again!

According to the manual the oil pressure switch and sender ar connected at location "C"
A Tee is used to connect both to the same port.

Suggest as Bondo mentioned, get an "easy out" and use that to remove. Be real easy doing so and if it feels like the easy out will snap off, need to stop. The easy out is hardened steel and if it breaks off, you would need a carbide bit to drill it out.

Don't need a whole set, might be able to get just the size you need. Maybe apply a little heat to help break it loose

Serial Number should be on the motor (a number, one letter, and 6 numbers exp: 0M123456) Will also be on a plate above the starter mounted to the block

post a pic of that area, if you only broke it off in the T then just remove the T if you broke it off in the block than maybe the motor must be pulled

AllDodge, thanks a ton for ur help. It guided me right to where I needed to be.... I removed the Tee (where sending unit and switch are attached) -tried to load a pic but file to large. Anyway around the file being too large? Also, can I just order the whole set up and skip trying to removed the broke screw?- the Tee, switch, and sending unit).

did the sender break in the T itself or did the nipple from the T break in the block

"did the sender break in the T itself or did the nipple from the T break in the block?"- AllDodge

(ans.) the sender broke off in the T.... I've tried to tap it out but it is fused in. So, is that part called a T if ñooked up on-line?

Agree, just go to a local hardware store and get a 1/8 NPT Tee, and if you also want to replace the short brass tube, then also get that at the hardware store. It is English size 1/8 NPT (National Pipe Thread)
