Oil Pressure Reading

Hope everyone is starting to get out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.

I have a '97 Chaparral with a 4.3/gen + Mercruiser. It has about 270 hrs and runs great.

Here is my question........I noticed this weekend the oil pressure reading to be right at the max level. Engine temperature was fine and oil pressure never crossed into the max area. Motor ran great. Everything was serviced, including oil change before it was stored for winter.

Is this normal or what. I've always thought I would rather see oil pressure good but I was not sure if this is too good.

Re: Oil Pressure Reading

First what is "max area"?

You need to verify the true pressure with a mechanical gauge.
