I have a 76 starcraft islander 22 ft with the 120 mercruiser. There is an oil presume gauge on the motor but I would like to have one on my dash. The only oil pressure gauges that I have ever ran have had the brass tube that goes directly to the gauge.i would prefer to not run 20 feet of tubing. have any of you all tried adding one of the electronic sending units on your boats? I am not worried about the oil pressure but it is something like piece of mind to make it easier to monitor.

Yes, just get an electric gauge of your choosing with sender.
I believe it's 1/8" NPT.
There should be an orange wire running from near the oil port to the panel.
I'm surprised you didn't have a gauge in the dash.

I think when the PO redid the motor that he swapped out the oil pressure for another gauge. I plan to add one to my console.
