oil pan SBC

have 2 oil pans For SBC. one w/ drain in center, other w/ drain in side, which is better? Is there aftermarket valve that is durable to help oil change easier?

i find the side outlet better on boats , cars i prefer the rear center.

get a dipstick sucker pump , best way to get oil from a boat motor.
i suck as much out as i can get then put a tub under the motor and pull the drain plug to get the remaining liter or so out.

I use one of these drain hoses and hook that up to my oil extractor (Mytvac) works great.

Seems to get better flow than up the dipstick. If you have an OEM dipstick with the garden hose connection on it that is probably best, but I have a cheaper aftermarket dipstick vs the OEM one when I repowered.

Usually the dipstick determines the pan
