Oil out of dipstick hole

I have oil coming out of my dipstick hole. 99 Maxum 2400 SCR 5.0 Merc, 220hp. I checked the pcv valve and hoses, they were perfect. I'm wondering what could pressurize my crankcase so hard. I did a compression test and all cylinders were 145-150. (okay I think) The #4 plug was a little cleaner than the rest but compression was good. I've tried to replicate the problem at the dock and can't catch the oil weeping. Does this oil blow indicate bad lower ring? Should the compression test have caught this? Should I do another compression test with the engine good and warm? (& burn fingers) Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Oil out of dipstick hole

Thank you ol' tars...

2 compression tests were done. One hot and one cold, all consistant. I'm thinking I may be a total hypochondriac and the bilge water may have washed some old oil left over from old oil changes and I'm keeping too close an eye on me bilge (cuz shez usually spotless!) Could not replicate dipstick puke no matter what I did but snail trail right to it. I'm going to put oil sorbent stuff in bilge (especially under suspects) run it out and post what I find. She may have been a little overfilled. (not sure) would that cause dipstick puke? She is after all these tests, showing no signs of H2O ingress, & oil level is perfect. I always after an oil change fill er up to okay mark after I get oil pres. back.

Thanks again.
