I have about four gallons of mixed 50:1 gas with TC-W3 in a can.Now I just wonder if it a good or a bad idea to use it in my chain saw or leaf blower.
In short,is 2 stroke oil that is for water cooled engines good or bad for air cooled engines??

Most of the time, engines can't tell the difference between good quality 2 stroke oil. Just be sure that you're running the correct mixture for each engine and you should be fine.

Bad for air cooled engines. Been there done that, cost me a power head on my Husky saw.

run it at your own peril. Better off to run it in your four stroke lawn mower or tractor.

That being said, I use Quicksilver multi-use oil in all of my two stroke stuff including my beloved LawnBoy - the one exception being my Stilhl chainsaw. It's rated TCW-3 and API-TC and I've never had any problems.

Your air-cooled engines run at a much hotter temperature than your water cooled two cycle outboard does and API-TC oils are designed for that duty.

water cooled for water cooled engines, air cooled for air cooled engines. don't swap the use, can be $$$$$$$.

but in a pinch, any oil is better than no oil.

Add Stabil to it and use it in the boat next season. It will survive just fine.

My Citgo TCW3 oil is suggested quote "for 2 cycle engines, including outboards, snowmobiles, motorcycles, chainsaws, string trimmers,
and lawn mowers" All my after market service manuals for Air cooled outboards recommend outboard oil some specifically TCW oil for lower concentration of oil.
I'm going to put the balance of my 2 stroke (Trimmer, tiller, chain saw.1 gal.32:1 in my 4 stroke snow blower just about full strength.
Do it every year.

I've run TWC3 in all my small motors (weed-wackers, chain-saws, etc) works fine.

Since they are my personal motors, I remove the jet 'limiters' and readjust mains and idle jets to my mix.

All have run fine for over 15 years so far.
