Oil of Johnson Motor

The oil that I am using for my 95' Johnson 90 hp outboard is causing the motor to hiccup. What is the preffered oil of choice for this motor to maximize its efficiency?? Please advise.....

probably not the oil if it's getting to the engine OK -- assuming fresh 50:1 ratio with fresh TCW-3 rated 2-cycle. I would guess the engine is running a little lean -- but you will absolutely want to first be sure that the auto oil injection is working, if so equipped.
