I got a 1962 75hp model V4S. Can someone tell me the oil mix ratio on this motor. And is it okay to use reg mix oil or is it going to need the johnson 10 dollars for 16 oz oil mix!?!?! And if someone can, does any one know about this engine, was it a good model and where they trust worthy????
Ive had motors, but nothing over 18 hp so kinda new to the big hp stuff!!!!

The engine was/is a good design for its day. Due to its internal design (all moving parts have bearings), you can safely use the 50/1 mixture.

DO NOT use regular oil.... this needs no explanation.... BOOM!

Use 1 pint of the TCW-III 50/1 oil to 6 gallons of gasoline. A octane rating of 87 will be fine.
