Could someone share with me how to plug the oil inlet on the oil injection pump? Or anywhere else if there is a better way. I have a 2000 90hp Johnson. Thanks.

Go to the Engine FAQs, TJT. Whys and hows are well covered there.

I've spent quite a bit of time looking through the Engine FAQs. I've got a plethora of information on the process of switching to premix. My Issue is plugging the oil inlet on the pump or plugginig the oil line. I don't quite know how to go about it. So i am looking for how others did it. What they used to plug, how they did it, materials, sizes, that sort of thing.

Your JohnnyRude dealer has caps made for the purpose of disabling the oil pumping function, TJT.

you can simply take a screw that fits and put a clamp around it,be sure to purge your fuel system with the new premixed fuel, you may have alot of plain gas in your seperator if you have one or fuel lines and ball

Is it true that there is already a plug stored somewhere in the engine compartment, from the factory, for this occasion? Also, is there any way to plug it at the oil inlet on the pump without using hose?

yes, often there is a plug device found on the hose to the VRO it would be clipped or snapped onto the hose, but often they get lost, fall into the engine housing,if indeed there was one provided,as for plugging without it.Just leave 2 inches of the hose connected to the pump and put a screw into the cut off hose, clamp it to hold in place,it doesnt need to be anything special, you just want to prevent dirt etc,fro getting up there,it would work without anything, nothing will come out

I was under the impression that the main reason for plugging it was to keep air from being pumped into the fuel/oil system. Dirt and other impurities are just an additional reason.
