I was looking at my engine and noticed the oil level was below the fill line. Is it normal to have this at the end of the season or do I have a small leak?

Thanks,

How much did you run it? All engine techinically "use some oil". Sure, some use so little that they need none added between changes. However, some need topped off every now and then...Just like in our cars.

I think next year I will measure how much new oil it has and compare it to the end of the season. I would try to go out 5 or 6 times a month at least.

The above poster is correct that using a little oil is to be expected. Unless it's happening rapidly or in large quantities, I wouldn't be too concerned.

um assuming you are talking about your engine oil, you do check it now and then dont you

in my case i typically check it after each time i use the boat.

having done this now for a while i find that my motors (2) dont use much oil at all

so over a season i dont have to top them up, however i still check
