Let me start out by saying i dont know anything at all about boat motors. I have a 1988 yamaha pro-v 150 and i just had the carbs cleaned last week. they were full of a "green jelly"(inase this has something to do with it). any ways i hooked the hose up to the motor and ran it a few times this week and i was unhooking the hose yesterday and i noticed there was oil from right above the prop all the way up to what looks like an exhaust. i have a pic that shows where im talking about but its too big to up load.
What would cause oil to show up here?

Re: oil leaking out of exhaust

Take the cover off and look to see if the oil resserve on the inside (port side) is leaking and running out.
This is assuming you have a reserve tank inside the cover (like my 85 - V-6).
