Oil leaking from the oil lvel gauge?

Hi!

I have 2 stroke oil leaking and I'm pretty confident that it's coming from the oil level gauge. It's a 90 HP engine from 2000
Is this this part. 6H1-85720-15-00.

It's not "rushing out" but enough to leave an oil slick behind the motor on land or in the water.

Should there be a cable-tie or similar around the neck(there isn't)?

I have 2005 yamaha with same problem (same part number). Did you fix the problem with cable tie or did you have to purchase new part?
