near the end of the season i noticed oil leaking from the outdrive. It was coming out around the bearing carrier around the propeller shaft.Leaking alot!this was after sitting a week since the last time out.Does this sound like it might be just the seals or something more serious?

Is this a question? Yes you should fix it before using it further. Much damage can be done if water gets in, and water will get in if oil can get out.

Get a manual and follow instructions. If it were me, I would plan on replacing all exposed seals at a minimun. Drain the remaining oil, and see how much water might be in it, and whether there is evidence of metal shavings, etc. or other signs of apparent damage.

Good Luck.

It could be both. If it is old and does not get a lot of use , yes it could be just the seal.
But of you hit something of someone backed in to it while it was out of the water, the shaft could be bent and not giving you a good enough seal arounfd the shaft. Look at the prop, does it look like it has been hit or something.

Sounds like a propshaft seal. could be full of fishing line. check for a bent shaft. If it is a Bravo drive the oil drain plug is in there and could be loose or missing a gasket. You will want to fix this before you run the boat again for sure.
