I have a nice running-somewhat heavy smoking at low speeds-2000 150 h.p. two stroke Johnson. The issue I have is that it does seem to use a lot of oil especially at lower R.P.M.s.The other issue is, oil leakage after shut down.I am not sure if this is residual oil unburned and committed from oil tank or there is some area on the motor I could inspect for leakage. Are there any adjustments that could be made to the VRO system to make it more efficient and less smokey. I have spoken to other owners of same engine and they have expressed similar experiences.Thank you Andy

Thouroughly check the fuel line for an air leak. That can cause it to use more oil than normal and drip the excess oil from the prop hub when shut off. There are no adjustments to be made.

Any fuel restriction will cause over oiling.

the manual details tests for both oil consumption and fuel restriction. Perform both.

an engine of that age needs all rubber lines replaced regardless. Might start there...

Once you get things under control, switch to a semi-synthetic oil. That should reduce smoking even further

The problem was a broken and detached oil line- it took a little while and I had to take off the bottom cowling-but the fix was straight forward.I am not sure of the function of this part attached to the broken oil line but I believe it returns unburned oil back into the v.r.o. system ,instead it was just oozing out.Thank you for your time and advice.Andy
