Oil leak, fuel in oil

2015 Bayliner 175, mercruiser 3.0 TKS.

Had the boat serviced and winterized at the end of last year. 2nd time out this season I noticed oil mixed with water in the bulge area.

Got the boat home and check for leaks and it seems to be leaking at the oil filter. I'm almost certain it's a faulty filter. I drained the oil, pulled filter off, made sure sealing surface was clean and smooth, checked the filter seal. Everything looked perfect. Reinstalled filter, add oil. No change. Hard to tell but looks like oil is seeping around the crimped area of the filter. Sierra brand.

It only leaks when the engine is running.

This leads me to another find. Strong gas fumes in the oil. I've read that it's possibly bad fuel pump.

Thank you for any help and advice.

I check here on Iboats for a fuel pump but it seems they don't offer fuel pumps, just parts? Is there a rockauto type site for boats?

welcome aboard

buy another filter

check your clear line from the fuel pump to the carb. if there is fuel in there, you need a new fuel pump

if not, you could have a sticking needle and seat in the carb

you didnt look correctly if you cant find a fuel pump on iboats.

Thx for they reply Scott.

Changed the oil and filter today. It was a faulty filter. Not sure about the fuel in the oil yet. Ran the boat for about 35 mins, some wot runs. There may be a hint of fuel in the oil. Not 100% sure. I didn't see fuel in the clear tube at all. It is yellowed.

Would fuel treatment fix a sticking needle?
