Re: oil injection removel

Hey rodbolt! Thanks for your time. The oil systems a mess. All my buddies have removed their oil injection systems and have had no problems. Their motors are newer than mine. I've cleaned up all three carbs. Getting ready to put back on. Need to replace fuel pumps and clean lines. Just re-installed tanks and that the last thing I want to do. Thank you for your input. Regards..... Stratcat 88.

Re: oil injection removel

if your bound and determined then remove the oil pump, remove the driven shaft and reinstall the pump.
remove the engine oil tank and jump the white or blue/white to black.
but for the life of me I cant understand why anyone would wanna screw up a very nice system thats incredibly reliable and easy to maintain.
I have seen more motors blow with premix than a well maintained precision blend.
if you remove the remote tank and the yellow lamp or center bar is irritating jump the black/red to black.

I still find it amazing when people want to remove the oil system, doesn't matter what brand, there is always someone who has a mate that heard from a friend....

Re: oil injection removel

I am no where near as knowledgable as others on this but it is my understanding that with the oil injection your engine is much, much better lubricated at recommended levels. When you increase rpm's the injector automatically adds the required amount to meet the needed lubrication under a load. When it is idling it will automatically adjust the oil less helping to keep your plugs from fouling and helping your engine run cleaner and more efficient. The premix won't do that. As Rodbolt said, why mess with a good thing? There's no way you could improve this system by premixing. Also keep in mind there's a lot of guessing when you use premix. How much fuel is left when you fill up? How much oil should you add? Will you always remember to add oil? If a buddy uses your boat will he remember? You may also be removing some safety features that send out a warning if the lubrication isn't enough. So again, why remove it? Hope this sheds some light. Good luck.
