Oil injection problem on 95 Seadoo sportster

When the boat sits up for a while it will leak so much oil in the cylinders it won't spin over. I have to remove the plugs and spin it over (making a huge mess) then clean and replace the plugs. I'm about to disconnect the O.I. and premix my fuel.

Any ideas?

it isn't an injection issue,, it is caused by one of 3 reasons
the engine has a rotary valve, that has oil between the two sections of the crank case for the cylinders, that section is closed off by a crank case seal on either side and a rotary valve shaft seal if any of those seals leak the oil seeps in to the other parts of the crank case and gets burned off when you start the engine,, real bad leaks will do what you are experiencing,, also the case halves are flush fit and do not have a gasket, those halves allow some oil to work in to the crank case, a little oil after sitting is normal, in your case you probably need to pull the engine and replace all the seals, unfortunately that requires a new crank shaft as it is a pressed crank and the seals are not serviceable without a lot of equipment and knowledge.

Will doing away with the oil injection and premixing fuel prevent the symptoms?

Or a better question.... Will it hurt to do away with the O.I. and premix my fuel? Local Seadoo Dealer said 100/1 but 50/1 would be safer.

nope because you still need the rotary valve compartment to be full of oil and that is where the oil is leaking from, it isn't the oil pump so eliminating the pump is pointless.

That's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll put a couple of valves in the oil lines temporarily until I can get the problem fixed right.

what you can try is to find the big oil hoses , one goes to the left of the engine and the other goes from the right of the engine both go to the oil tank, one on top of the tank and one on the bottom, remove those from the tank and block off the fittings from the tank, go to an auto parts store and buy a t fitting used for flushing auto cooling systems, they make them in different hose diameters and the fitting has a removable cap where a garden hose is intended to be connected for flushing out a car engine,,
what you do is connect the 2 hoses to this fitting and loop it over the front of the engine, before hooking up the fitting you use some compressed air in one line and have the other line in a catch can to force out the oil from the rotary valve compartment. then with the hoses attached to the fitting and the cap removed you replace the oil with gear lube and some seal conditioner in case the seals are leaking, and place the cap back on, now you have isolated the rotary valve compartment and used a thicker oil to help solve the problem without eliminating the oil injection on your engine.
Thicker oil in the rotary valve area will work better as the gears are brass and need good lubricating, and the thick oil with seal conditioner should slow the leakage considerably, with the removable cap you can add oil when needed and you can see the oil in the hoses as they are semi transparent. you will need to do this to both engines and it isn't a problem if you decided to put it back the way it was at a later date.
the easiest way to block off the oil tank fittings where you removed the hoses is to get a piece of hose the proper diameter and loop it from the bottom tank fitting to the top fitting securing it with hose clamps.

Thanks for all the input! But I think I'm going to let someone who knows the boat better than me go ahead and fix it back to the way it was when new. I'll stick to what I know, diesel engines.
