can i block off the oil line to the pump and just run mixed gas will it hurt anything? Does anybody know Thanks

you can// and it wont// you will need to pull the gear from the oil pump though and keep oil tank for the rotary valve attached.

Ok blocked off oil line to pump can i just cap off the end to the pump and leave the gear in there what will leaving it in there do to it also funny thing keeps happening to me i have 2 of these skis just got them one was blown up fixed that other one seems ok but heres the problem i have with both of them sometimes i putt out past the no wake zone and gas it it just seems like they are hitting the rev limiter all you hear is ping ping ping ping like a miss the one i rebuilt i am mixing the gas and oil the other one is injected and it does it to here and there but not as much as the other i took the seat off and pounded on the top of the rev limiter box and it seemed to work but im not sure it that is the problem or not could have just been from removing the seat but once you get it to go it will go until i come back to the dock and shut down and go again it does it again i read a post earlier that might be hinting towards a blocked air intake as in maybe a mouse built a house there or in the exahust end im going to pull those off later and check ill repost after i check them out could it be a bad rev limiter carb trouble plug wires anyone ever have this problem before with these skis

i checked the airbox no mouse nest pulled off the exhaust didnt see anything in there

not sure what you are describing as the actual issue, but if your ski won't accelerate after being in a no wake zone for a while it usually means the exhaust hose has a leak and the hull is full of exhaust gas,, try with the seat off and idle for a minute and then accelerate, if it doesn't do the same as with the seat on, you need to closely inspect the exhaust hoses for holes.

Hey Jeff i think your onto something there i just thought about this and one time when i brought it back to the dock because it wouldnt go i left it sit for awhile then jumped on it started it up and floored it and it took right off so i buzzed right out of the no wake zone i know you shouldnt do that but i figured if i putted out there again it wouldnt go and come to think of it when i was checking for the mouse nests the clamps were loose i will take it out and post my results i hate to read someone elses posts and when they figure out the problem they never give that final reply

Rago,you could have a handfull of reasons causing your condition.First off is the engine reving and actually hitting the revlimiter,or is it not coming up in rpm's and popping from the exhaust or carbs???

no popping at all i can get it to hit the rev limiter out of the water if i hold it wide open i jumps right up to speed no problem at wide open you can tell the rev limiter kicks in it gives that miss sound im heading out this evening to try it i tightend up all my clamps what would happen if i took off the rev limiter? would i blow it up on the water i have never heard it hit the rev limiter in the water is that for just on land when your flushing it

It will bounce off the limiter if you jump a wake/wave if you keep your thumb in the throttle..Thats what it's there for...Hows the holeshot from a dead stop???? Does the boat hook up and shoot bow up out of the water??

well i took them out yesterday afternoon and putted out of the no wake zone jumped on the throttle same thing sounded like it was missing bad so i turned around went back to the dock took of the seat putted back out of the no wake zone jumped on the throttle took right off like a bullet somehow i am getting carbon dioxide in there and its choking out the motor seems once i get it up on plane i have no problems it must be going fast enough to clear out the gases then still cant figure out where im getting the leak from i thought about taking a hole saw and putting a bigger hole in the airbox would that hurt anything

just find the hose that is leaking and fix it,, it's usually between the waterbox and the pipe and it knows you will look so it hides it on the side you can't see, or your exhaust pipe flange is loose but that will leak water and you will see lots of water shot out when you run with the seat off.
