oil in stator housing of 93 xp 650 question?

I discovered that the reason for the loss of spark in my 93 650 xp was due to a open resistance on the primary coil and damaged magnets in my flywheel. Upon removal I noticed oil present in the base of the flywheel housing. Before I install the replacement stator and wheel, I would like opinion as if oil that may be leaking into the housing was the cause of my issue (flywheel magnetics were oil wet.) Do I need to tear the engine down and replace the seal between the crankcase and the stator housing?

thanks in advance for the feedback

just replace the seal with the front flywheel removed un do the rear cover bolts and the seal is actually in the cover itself no big deal.. grease the inner lips of the seal before re installing the cover
