Oil in compartment

i just was given a 1998 Bombardier GTS. there is some green oil under the motor. i was wondering what could be some causes of this. i turned the motor over and it did turn. i removed the spark plugs and one of them was a little rusty. maybe that could be my problem???? also, i know absolutely nothing about these motors. so, thank you for any input.

Do you have the greenish colored fuel lines on there? If you do pull one and look inside. I forget what year they corrected this problem but the stock fuel lines turned to green goop on the inside. I have a 2000 sea doo xp and the first thing I did when I got it was change these lines as they looked good from the outside but the inside of them were horrible. Also may need to pull carbs and clean if this is your problem
