Oil in air filter -- how/why?

Hi everyone - I have a 2006 Yamaha VX and have small amount of oil in the airbox and on the filter. I've done some research that suggests, if this was a car, it would be because of a bad PCV valve.

Does that logic hold true on the 4-stroke waverunner? Is the PCV valve something that can be easily replaced?

Alternatively, if it's not the PCV, what else could the problem be?

you over filled the oil,, it is a common issue with yamaha 4 stroke engines.. they can not be over filled at all and even the dealers do it if they don't pay close attention to the proper level when they do an oil change, since some oil always stays in the engine when they pump it out
