Oil gauge juming around

Hi everyone,
Went out today and the oil pressure gauge started bouncing around, not a lot 5-10 pounds. Question is i can't remember it doing this over the last couple of weeks.
I'm sure my sender needs replacing because the pressure starts at 65 then as soon as I put it in gear it runs up to say 77-78 and holds then when I idle after it warms up, it goes to high 30's and starts bouncing around.

Checked for water in the oil and it's clean, do you guys think it could just be a connection?

Thanks for the help!!:D

Re: Oil gauge juming around

If, when you put it in gear you mean you also increase the engine rpm, then that is normal. After the engine warms up it's also normal for the oil pressure to be lower.
The bouncing could be loose/corrroded connections, faulty sender or gauge. Temporarily, install a mechanical gauge and see if it does the same thing.
The pressures themselves sound fine and normal. The bouncing is probably a problem.
