Oil/Gas mixture??

Hi All;

I have an older Merc 150 BlackMax that used to be oil injected but that has been removed.(not by me) I have been using the same gas/oil mixture I use in chain saws (50:1),but the engine smokes quite a bit(blue smoke/oil). Could someone please tell me what the correct oil ratio should be for this engine?

50:1 is correct. Do a compression test. Maybe running too rich? Rebuild carbs and fuel pump. It could be sucking gas straight into the crankcase.
