Hello all, Well now we have a 7.5HP Ted Williams (still looking for the year). We got it for a song and she runs well. Manual that came with it says 24 to 1 fuel ratio. I know I saw a similar post somewhere but I think if I did a search on oil/gas ratio, I'd be looking through all 30 plus posts :) What should we use? Thanks in advance :)

Howdy, Ka3. Lots of people run those oldies on 50:1, but there is no guarantee that will be a good idea. I run 50:1 in my 1948 Sea King, but I crank that oldie up only for demo purposes and almost never load it up.

Try mixing some 36:1 (6gal/1.5 pints) and run her on that. If that works try a little 50:1. Monitor temp closely.

TC-W3 is much better than oils were in the 50s and 60s. It is just a question of how much better and how loose is your old engine?

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Hi J.B., Isn't 50 to 1 = 1 pint to 6 gallons?
I'm confused now and math isn't my best subject :) Well now at least we have two back-ups. A 50LB thrust TM and this oldie :) Oh does anyone have a diagram on how to make a motor bracket for this kicker? Thanks so much. Glad your vacation went well JB :)
(wa3ipb's wifey)

ON THE OLDER ENGINE THE ROD IS SETUP FOR
25 TO 1.
YOU CAN RUN 50 TO 1 BUT IF YOU STICK A PISTON
OR THE ROD CAMES OUT.
I WOULD SAY 37 TO 1 WOULD BE OK BUT IF IT WAS
ME WHAT DOES THE "MANUAL" SAY.
:) ;)
