I was recently given a Johnson 5 hp motor.

The model # is LD-12A
serial#J2756478

What mixture do I need to use? 50/1, 25/1, and is that 1 pint oil to 6 gallons of gasoline for 50/1?

The prop on the motor has 8 x 7-1/2" on it? It also has 3 blades. I can't find a new one with 3 propellers. Any suggestions. Anything will help this novice boater. THX

That motor is a 1967. You can get a manual (a generic one is fine) that will answer many questions and help you keep it running.

As for propellers, the only one that the iBoats Prop Finder lists for that motor is the 8 inch 3 blade model. Michigan Match makes those but you may have a hard time finding them in stock.

Here on this site (at bottom of page) are links to Clymer's and Seloc generic manuals. I personally like Clymer's, but that's just an opinion.

Good luck!

Your correct mixture is 50:1. Buy any good 2-cycle oil (like Pennzoil) and the mixture formulas are right on the container.

Good luck!
