I have an 03 honda 40 hp and i do not like spending 10 bucks for a 4 dollar filter.I was wondering if anyone knows if i can cross reference part numbers over to a fram filter or an automotive type? Thanks in advance.

Re: Oil Filters

Hi Dolsen
I think if I were you with a New engine, I would just suck it up for now and buy the Manufactuers filters. It could be that down the road you may need Warranty work and using an "Off-Brand" filter might compromise how your dealer and Honda handles it. Just my opinion....

dolsen
I agree, new motor under warranty, use their parts, they can never use that as a reason to turn down your warranty if you have used theirs.

Kiwi

Buy the honda filter till you are off warrenty. The 6 bucks you save could cost you a 1,000 later.
