Oil filter for Honda BF90 4Stroke...

I need to service my BF90 4 Stroke tomorrow...<br /><br />With all this talk that 'its just a civic engine with a prop' I got to thinking.. Can I use a filter from a motor factors for a Honda Civic, or do I have to get a special one from my marine dealer?

My 1998 BF90 takes the same filter as my 1990 Honda Accord. There is no reason to use a Honda Marine filter.

Someone can correct me on this but my understanding is that all Honda products (cars/boats) now use the same oil filter - even retrofit.
