oil filler location on merc

can any one please tell me the location of the gear oil filler on a merc 50 500 (75 modle) or similar.<br /><br />------------------

I believe on the left side (port side for all you old salts out there) of the engine's lower unit you'll find two slotted screws...one just below the gear case housing, (that's the drain/fill port)and the other up a ways higher (that's the vent).<br /><br />What ya gonna do once ya find them??<br /><br />Walt

Hey Walter;<br />You are on the wrong side of the boat. Fill and vent screws are on the starboard (left side).

Dang outboards!! Well, it SHOULD be on the port side! My MerCruiser is for cryin' out loud!<br /><br />Sorry about that Shake...uh, look on the other port side! hee, hee...<br /><br />Walt
