Hi,

I am trying to drain the motor oil first time on my 2.5 Hp 4-stroke Mercury kicker purchaced few years ago. This is basically a new motor, about 10 h of use, the oil looks good (through that little oil ckeck window) but, I cant turn the drain plug! Is there a normal thread and I should contunue pushing counterclockwise??? Or this is a reverse thread? The manual says nothing, and I assumed it is a normal one. I already broke two tools, it doesnt move. Either one smart guy used a power tool at the factory to tighen it, or, it is a reverse thread. No rust at all. Does anyone knows anything about it? Thanks a ton.

Re: Oil drain plug stuck

I've found that the handheld impact tool works very well on those stuck plugs. It has always worked for me, even with the most stubborn plugs.
