Was planning on changing the oil on my 5.0 volvo penta, just going to take the bolt out and let the oil run out the drain hole in the back and into my pan, what is the size of the drain bolt?

Thank-you.

Ayuh,.... DON'T do that,...

All the oil ends up in the bilge, 'n ya end up pumpin' that crap into the water where yer boatin'....

On Boats,.. We pump the old oil out through the dipstick...
If ya don't wanta do it Right,... Hire somebody to do it For ya...

Cleaning out the bilge is not a problem there is lots of room down there and I was planning on putting the boat on a steep angle so it will run out quickly?

Re: Oil change question.

What year is your Volvo? If you have a later model, the dipstick tube attatches to the bottom of the pan and you suck it out the dipstick. if your dipstick tube has threads like a water hose on it, just buy a pump designed to attach to it.
