Re: oil and water temp gauge

You have a two-stroke engine --there is no oil pressure to monitor. Water PRESSURE gauges are easy to install as there is no transducer. You simply "Tee" into the tell-tale or tap into the cooling system through an unused port. Water TEMPERATURE gauges require a sender that screws into an unused port in the water jacket or a contact type sender that touches the cylinder head. Both gauges come with instructions and both are simple to install. Teleflex and Faria both offer them and they are available here on iBoats.

My Yamaha has a cylinder temp gauge that the factory installed. Yours should too I would think. Granted mine is an '87 it is a small plug that comes out of the starboard side on top of the cylinder.
