I own a Mako 17' center console powered by a Johnson 150 hp outboard engine. Frequently the oil indicator lamp and alarm go on and stays on until the engine is stopped. When the engine is restarted the alarm is off again but for only 15-20 minutes. The oil injection tank level is above 50%. What is the problem.

Re: Oil alarm

gugu,

THAT ALARM IS YELLING AT YOU-HEEELP!!!

Remove the tank and dump the oil. You may have water in it.

While you're at it, replace the filter sock and carefully inspect all the supply lines.

Refill the tank with fresh oil and reprime. Don't forget to run 50:1 in the fuel tank until you verify oil useage!!!
