Finally after 3 months I figured I would shoot the bump fire stock! Yikes, I have not felt anything like that since my days in the Army! Burning up 30 rounds in less than a minute was no problem at all, my wife asked, did it jam after about 15 seconds, so I checked, nope, no ammo left in the magazine, talk about fun, I recommend it to anyone that just wants to waste money shooting rounds, it was so close to one of my M16A1 that I can't imagine having to go through the cost and time to figure out the paperwork..

Seen those, probably are fun and I know you have an FFL. Personal opinion, anything that makes a semi auto go to full auto needs to be regulated. Just some shysters doing an end run around the law. If I put a 2 liter on the muzzle of a gun and get caught, I'm in trouble, and rightly so.

Same kind of end run with things with drugs like spice and our kids

I'm sure other opinions will be forth coming

I've never fired a bump fire, but I remember the first time firing full auto ... that's a lot of fun.

Though you're right, you can burn through ammo that way

Maybe a little off but somewhat related.

When a young pup (a few years ago) :D I had a Colt 32 handgun. When I disassembled it and cleaned it I took it out for a shot. I filled the clip (8 rounds I believe) then aimed and fired. One long bang and the clip was empty. I shot at something in a lake and all I saw was a series of splashes as it climbed.

I took it back apart and found that I had installed the sear backwards. I put it back together properly because I couldn't afford to go through ammo that fast. It worked semi-auto as designed.

By the way, I've never been able to get a bullet to rickoshay off water no matter how hard I've tried. Rocks are easier.:laser:

At one time I could see "bump-firering" 22 rimfire, but with the cost of 22 rimfire rounds these day, I won't do that either. I've seen it done and looks interesting. But really, unless you could practice doing that, how could you even begin to hit any type target? :noidea: I am more of a sniper type shooter. I go for very accurate shots and small groupings. Even long single shots that take breathe control to accomplish the hit. That is how I enjoy shooting. JMHO!

^^^ LOL. My Dad shot bench rest competitively. And while I like doing long gun accuracy shots ... that kinda' shooting was toooooooooooooooo slooooooooooooowwwwwwwww. My rate of fire at a practice one day picked up noticeably compared to the other shooters. Dad's buddy who was behind me finally got up and asked me what the heck I was doing. So I had him look down my spotting scope. I was shooting smiley faces in the targets :D

I've shot several full auto guns, and shooting in bursts they are very accurate. Once you learn to "surf" the recoil a little, you can really get a short auto burst dialed in very tight.

come on gm, it was fun, I to enjoy long range shooting and used to compete, but going wild every once in a while is a kick in the pants, if you practice enough you would be surprised at how accurate you can become with a full auto, I regularly put 10 rounds on target when I was in the Army, not all that difficult.

MT, I am not condemning such things, I too like rattling off rounds quickly. But not as much anymore knowing the cost and time It takes me to reload those spent rounds. I guess I've taken to quality shots now instead of throwing lead in the air. But I am not condemning anybody for their shooting fun times either. Have at it. But collect those empty spent rounds and send them to me...

I didn't think you were condemning me, I don't feel comfortable shooting my M16's for fear of breaking them, they are worth way to much money, but this is a fun way to simulate, It is always fun to play Rambo for a minute or two, reminds me of my younger days. I will be reloading my brass, I have about 10 thousand rounds of .223 around here and I just purchased the jig and saw to cut them down for the .300 blackout as well as reloading them for .223. I am actually thinking about getting back into long range shooting competition again, I used to be pretty good and here in MT, we have lots of room to do them.

My friend is a class 3 dealer and has all the good stuff. I went with him and some other guys to shoot. One of them had the bump fire stock. I was surprised how well it worked and you can adjust the rate depending on how you hold it.

Amazing how when you go out to shoot, that shoot fast option shows up for a while. And after running rounds out as fast as you can, you decide to save some rounds for another day. I always though it interesting in how you get use to shooting each gun. If you start off with a mere 22 pistol and move up to 44 mag throughout the shooting session, if you go back to 22 pistol again, it seems like a pea shooter.

I won't get into the political part of that. Most people don't want to shoot full auto unless it is for fun. It is a huge ammo eater and costs a lot. The shots are not accurate compared to a semi or bolt action.

Let's be careful that we don't edge too political or regulatory, y'all.

... The shots are not accurate compared to a semi or bolt action.
I agree with you at one level Thumper, but I would also say "different tools for different jobs." A full auto can be as or more accurate than a semi-auto. Long gun will always be more accurate at distance than carbines, subs or pistols, but close in you'll have a heck of a time shouldering the sucker fast enough to sight in. So, I go back to "the right tool for the right job" ...

... and they're fun to shoot up a bunch' ammo.

Hmm, my pump 12 gauge does bump-fire (by original design, no mods by me), but I don't think I'd want to subject this old body to that kind of abuse.

I have a mossberg 835 that will shoot 3.5" shells. I have been afraid to try it.
