This should be easy to find but for some reason its not, or at least for me. I know about Southern States and a couple other big outfits which will deliver farm diesel. The issue is how do you find them by searching on the net?

Search
Farm diesel delivery service
Off Road diesel delivery
Gasoline delivery
Bulk fuel delivery
and a bunch of others

What has me looking, is I know there is a delivery service in Columbia KY, but I'm not able to find it. Was talking to the guy who does it a few months ago but don't remember the name. There is Lewis transport which does not do farm delivery.

How to find all that are around me is the problem

Rogers Petrolium works out of Morristown, TN and Livingston, TN ... and Kimbro runs outta' the Nashville area. If they don't run out to farms in southern KY, mabye they know who does?

Livingston is close enough I think, thanks
Did ask a neighbor and he said the place is Newcomb Oil. Also mentioned another guy, which I think he is private guy with a truck. Need to check prices

Plug Columbia, KY in front of your search string.

Lewis is a heavy hauler only, full tank loads to the off brand stations

A heating oil retailer? Not too many oil burners left, but maybe a hauler would tank up with fuel oil for you.

In some areas the off road and home heating only different by the red dye and taxes. I know a lot of people around here that I have seen them filling the tanks from the same truck. If you have a farm or state sales tax number the off road is cheaper. I just filled one of my portable tanks last week for a few cents over two bucks a gallon for red fuel. The tank farm is just a few miles up the road and I have a fleet card for both off road and for my trucks. Different pumps and quite a big price difference in Pennsylvania.

In KY you don't need a ID to run off road (OR) in an machine. The OR pump sits next to the regular diesel pump and does cost less due to no road tax. You don't want to run home heat oil (No 1 diesel) in a truck/tractor because it will burn it up, it runs to hot. Some No 1 is mixed with No 2 (reg diesel) during the winter to help keep it from gelling.

Just had 200 gallons delivered for the tractors from my home heating supplier the other day.

Southern States delivers as well if you have one locally

Check your owners manual, check with your fuel oil distributor. My local supplier heating fuel is #2. Another supplier nearby will supply 1/2 mix heating fuel which is mostly used for mobile homes with outside tanks.

from my loader's operators manual;

Guessing it varies on location.

We use #2 for home heating oil. Same stuff goes in my ag fuel tank.

Use a cetane additive in the winter to prevent gelling

I remember many years ago that JP-5 was used on our small boats in my Navy days. It was specified to be used in both the 6-71 Detroits and the small Westerbeke motors when ever the temp was below freezing but we used it year round.

Off topic but are there any Navy vets on here that remember when they used to have the races between the Captains gigs at Norfolk. The engine men used to spend weeks tuning, waxing hulls, etc. prepping for them. I think they were held in April about the same time as the airshow and the Azalea Festival.
