Hi guys and gals,
Hoping to get some advice here after doing some searches.
-95 Mercruiser 7.4L bravo 2 leg. 1350hours. Rarely on the step. Salt water moored all year. Fresh water cooled. -no current issues, just some preventative maintenance here:
I don't believe the risers and manifolds have ever been replaced. Possibly once but I doubt it. The exhaust manifolds are Plummed into the fresh water cooling system. I take this to mean there life span is drastically increased and I can probly just replace the risers. I started researching the job and I've come across some 7.4l with factory stainless risers. I would like to check if mine are in fact that! Is it as simple as holding a magnet to them?
Appreciate the input and help everyone,
Alan

The 496's came with stainless risers. I don't believe the 454's did

If you can provide an engine serial number we can tell you what you have.
