Is the odor in the cabin, or do you notice it on deck. If it's while you are on the deck, here's something to consider that I noticed with my boat. Usually, your holding tank temperature is lower than the air temperature. If this is the case, the vent air will sink away from the boat and you as it exits the vent discharge. My vent discharge is near the captains seat on the side of the hull, about 6 inches below the rub rail. If I'm moving, or the vent air "sinks" away from me, I don't smell it. If it's cool outside, and I'm not moving, this vent air rises and hit me's pretty strong. First time it happened I thought I had a problem. Turns out it was just which way the vent air moved. As a matter of interest, my vent has a screen which keeps the critters out.
