Only a mistake oddjob, if you are a liberal and afraid of some good solid analytical truth.

ps, don't forget, Rush is mean and 'mean people suck'.

Liberal definition of 'mean' is someone who tells the hard cold truth which they do not want to hear.

How's that for spicing up your troll oddjob? :p

I'll play,i heard there was record turnouts and less violence than what everbody thought, so it totally screwed up the news media and they dont know what to run.

Welcome to middle eastern politics. These are the people who can easily pass lie detector testing because they believe their own lies.
Please stop looking at what happens there from an american point of view.
Right next door from Iraq in Iran, the people chose an arch conservative, religious fanatic who denies the holocaust ever happened. All of this through a democratic election system. This guy is gonna have atom bombs in a few months and he is spoiling to try them.

I saw that on Rush's site and it made me wonder - where does Rush get his real-truth info. I mean, does he employ a worldwide staff of reporters that tell him what's really going on? Does he make it up while he's sitting in front of the mic? How does he KNOW what the truth is without his own fleet of correspondents?

Iran is next IMO, and their leader is baiting the USA to BOMB HIM.

Nuff said, BOMB HIM. The Islamic hate filled faction wants their Jihad with the USA. BOMB THEM.

Deal is as I view it is that the USA is now what Great Brittan was a couple centuries ago. We have dominion as well as interests in the entire world.

Difference is that I do believe that we the USA have a diverse enough belief and sensitivity BECAUSE of our political conglomerate that our Global involvement and influence is correct.

It can't be a surprise that Iran wants to influence the results of this election.

I have no idea what will happen, but it seems the only good (for us) outcome is if they elect a secular Shiite leadership that is willing to compromise and allow some Sunni and Kurd participation, along with sharing the oil revenues.

And that is the fundamental problem with democracy and self rule--and that is that sometimes the right candidates and causes don't win.

Time will tell.

Sometimes it is not all about YOU. Sometimes one has to concede things for the survival of the country. Yet, that is contrary to todays thinking. So, we'll just capitulate and let anyone run all over us. Get ready for more 9/11's. OMG, what was 9/11?

As far as elections go-who cares. Less than half of the people here vote. Why should we care about what happens in another country?

Re: oddjobs troll - Iraqi election

Sorry,

It all must be a lie. First there was to be 10's of thousands of american deaths in the unwinable war. Second they could never put together a Constitution so there can't be an election. Third, Iraqi's are not capable of having civilized elections history has proven that. So this is truely a troll as it could never happen.

Sincerely,

Harry Reid.

What mostly worries me about the Iraqi elections is that they may end up with politicians like ours.

Rolmops,

According to the early returns, The Shiite radical Muslim religious slate appears to have a large early lead, with the Sunnis second and the secular Shiites a distant third.

These results will yield worse polis than we have, if that is even possible.

We could have traded in Saddam for a radical Muslim Theocracy, aligned with Iran. Now that would be more than a bit ironic, I think.

Re: oddjobs troll - Iraqi election

Hello Plywoody.
It was to be expected. Any serious student of middle eastern history and political science expected exactly that outcome. The shias have the majority, but they do not have the educated classes to properly govern.Naturally they turn to their religious leaders. They will rule for a short time. Then the Sunnis and the Kurds will band together and remove them. When that is done the Kurdish militias will probably be embroiled in some border conflict with other sunny states where there is a kurdish minority (Turkey,Syria,Iran) and as usual they will be their own worst enemies.Give it ten years and the sunnies will be back in power. If it is convenient they will use democracy as a tool.If it is inconvenient they wil drop it.

Re: oddjobs troll - Iraqi election

Rolmops
wow you said what I have said for years.
the elections are a political joke. if that rea wanted democracy they would have had it 2 or 3 thousand years ago. however they dont, never did and will not. its a fact of life. somehow in the past 4000 years or so that area has gone from the cradle of civilization, knowledge and understanding to what it is now. much of it in the past 300 years or so. to fix it we and they must find out through history where they fell off the trck and only then will that area of the world prosper. I predict a countinuance and escalation of the civil war in Iraq. its sad but it is what it is nd the only thing they hate worse then each other is us. once we leave they will go back to fighting each other and we will arm one side and someone else will arm the other and only the military industrial empire profits.
funniest yet saddest point was in the 80´s when saddam was using poison gas by a british manufacture to kill arabs and the ayatolla was using missles and aircraft by israli/US mnufacture to kill arabs. and in the end neither side won, we gave them just enough to kill each other but neither side got enough for a victory. funny aint it?

Re: oddjobs troll - Iraqi election

We worry about Iraq, but Osama is still running loose in our allies (?????) countrys. I believe if 1/2 the effort to get Saddam by GW was used to find Osama we would have him today. No that does not stop terrorism but would have been the best place to start instead of settling a vindeta over a threat against Sr.
