ODDD1--- Need Lower Unit advice

I saw a post by Coork Johnson, you gave him some pretty good advice. My problem? I have a Chrysler 6.6hp that I would like to replace the L/U with a L/U from a 9.9 Chrysler. The water tube and the drive shaft look the same. The length is the same. The only difference is the 6.6 is a one piece gearcase and the 9.9 is a two piece, any problems? These motors are both 60's vintage. Thanks a lot. Hal.

It may well fit, but i dont know if it will.....have never tried the swap.....if the shifting setup is the same,might as well try it...
