87 sanpan pontoon omc 3.0 , put a couple alternators on this thing past year or 2. i have 2 batteries one under console one in back, we took the family out the other day ran it everything seemed fine. me and my friend stayed out to go fishing and it started to have a slight miss in it, then it started running real ruff, then died on us. we stayed and fished for a bit the battery was really low i could tell from the light. so i hooked up a spare 3rd battery and it fired up. So we went loaded it up and took it home. ( no miss in it after good battery was on it)

before starting it today, it showed 66% on battery. I put it on charge 20amp for about 10 min and used a jumper setting on the charger to fire it up real fast to do some test. i got the charger off of it right away and let the motor run it shows 15.2 at the battery and the volt meter on dash showing about 14.7 8 ish. Any ideas as to why it seems like its killing the battery when we are running it even tho the battery side seems like its getting juice. sitting in the yard the batts dont really seem to die other than your typical slow drain

Re: odd one charging

How are the two batteries connected? Do you have an isolator, dual battery switch, ACR, or are they two just connected in parallel.
