My family will be vacationing in Ocean Isle Beach next August (i know, very hot). Being from Michigan, I have no idea what the fishing is like that time of the year in N.C.. I will be with my 9 year old grandson (as well as 19 other family members) and would like to include him my plans. Can anyone advise or inform?
Thank you
Bob

Okay I have to say I don't know exactly where you are going to be and have never been there that said I do live in SC and fish the east coast and if you can fill me in a little more on what type of fishing you will be doing (boat: offshore, inshore OR land based: beach pier or inland creeks) I might be able to help some. If you don't here from me here soon e-mail me at fishbusters@hotmail.com because I have been so busy around here I don't get to check in but once a week if that.

Re: Ocean Isle Beach

Thank you for your response. Ocean Isle is just over the border into N.C.. Looks about 25 miles north of N. Myryle Beach. Since I'll be with a 9 year old, I would like to go for quantity. He doesn't do too well on the big water (turned green after 2 hrs perch fishing on lake Erie last week). I was thinking of shore, pier or inland or flats fishing.
Belive me, I know nothing of what to expect. My image is casting out from the beach with one of those long spinning rods, sticking it into the sand and seeing what happens but I'm open to anything. Main thing is, I don't want to commit to a guide or type of fishing that doesn't fit the time of year.
Any suggestions are really appreciated.
Bob
